Find the best path to writing impactful memoirs and personal essays with award-winning memoirist Christopher Locke. Small, individualized classes meet once a week at Whitcomb’s, one of the most exciting new arts spaces to recently open in the Adirondacks. With Chris’ caring and supportive guidance, you will have the opportunity to transform your ideas into powerfully constructed prose. Whether you’re looking to begin the journey of crafting your own memoir, or if you’re just curious about how to write the best personal essay possible, let Chris’ proven approach of compassionate listening, detailed guidance, and unyielding support bring your work to the next level. Instructor: Christopher Locke was born in New Hampshire and received his MFA from Goddard College. His poems have appeared in numerous literary journals. He won the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Award, as well as grants in poetry from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. 25 Trumbulls Road, his first collection of fiction, won the Black River Chapbook Award. His new book of poems, Music For Ghosts (NYQ Books), was released in May 2022. His memoir, Without Saints (Black Lawrence Press), will be published this October. Chris lives in Essex and teaches English and creative writing at SUNY Plattsburgh and North Country Community College.
