EXCITING GRANT OPPORTUNITY FOR LOCAL THEATER GROUPS & PRESENTERS!
The Creative Opportunity Fund (COF) of A.R.T. (Alliance of Regional Theatres)/New York provides general operating support grants of $2,000-$5,000 to smaller theater companies throughout the state. The aim is to help theater groups stabilize and build capacity for themselves, while increasing funding opportunities for companies that have been left out of the mainstream because of barriers associated with racial, economic, disability and sexual identity and/or geographic location—including rural areas such as the Adirondack North Country. The application deadline for the COF grant is Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 5 pm.

The ADK Quad-County Region Grants Program of the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts (ALCA) is teaming up with A.R.T./New York for an info session on Tuesday, September 27, at 2 pm at Pendragon Theatre in Saranac Lake. Following the session, which is expected to run approximately 90 minutes, we invite you to join us for an informal gathering of info-session participants (and perhaps some theater folks who cannot make it to the session) in the Great Room of the Hotel Saranac to mingle, share news of your theater group’s upcoming productions and even discuss possible collaborations (cash bar available).
To sign up for the info session and/or learn more about this grant opportunity, please contact ALCA’s Grant Coordinator Fred Balzac at fred@adirondackarts.org and/or 518-588-7275.

JEANNE DANFORTH SHOW AT ADIRONDACK ARTISTS GUILD
“Every Which Way the Wind Blows,” an exhibit of recent paintings by Jeanne Danforth, will be the featured show at the Adirondack Artists Guild during the month of October. It opens on Friday, October 7, with a reception from 5-7 pm.

Known for her ability to depict the flora and fauna of the natural world as well as for her renditions of farm animals, she has created a new body of work in oil and acrylic.
Danforth writes of her work, “These are a few of my favorite things. Painting them finds truth obscured by words or lack of adequate verbiage, To paint, I must wordlessly define my attraction. Sometimes that wind sweeps clear an illusion. Sometimes that wind brings light where there is none. I like to paint.”
The Adirondack Artists Guild is a cooperative retail art gallery representing a diverse group of artists residing and working in the Tri-Lakes region of the Adirondack Park.
