LPCA Presents An Evening with Fran Lebowitz

In conversation with Ellen Rocco at the Strand Center Theatre

Thursday, October 27, 2022, 7:30 – 10 pm

Join the LPCA at The Strand Theatre in Plattsburgh for this unique conversation with the legendary Fran Lebowitz.

In a cultural landscape filled with endless pundits and talking heads, author and journalist, Fran Lebowitz stands out as one of our most insightful social commentators.

Her essays and interviews offer her acerbic views on current events and the media – as well as pet peeves including tourists, baggage-claim areas, after-shave lotion, adults who roller skate, children who speak French, or anyone who is unduly tan.

For her North Country debut, Fran will chat with local icon Ellen Rocco and field audience questions. Ellen is the former station manager of North Country Public Radio.

Warren County Historical Society Offers History on a Thumb Drive

More than 90 history publications in digital form on a computer thumb drive are now available from the WCHS.

“Many people who like to collect history books will find this a convenient way to add to their collection as it takes up little space,” as Executive Director Don Rittner explains. “There are books on the natural and human history of Warren County, some going back to the early 19th century, and two 19th century maps that we can print that are suitable for framing,” he added.

The Thumb Drive which can be used on PCs as well as a Macintosh computer comes on a 16 gigabit thumb drive and there is room for more that can be added by the owner. The price of the thumb drive is $20 plus tax and shipping. Contact the Society HERE to order.
