“Wanderings from Shinnecock”
A solo exhibition of photographic work by Jeremy Dennis
Courthouse Gallery Exhibition
Through Dec 17, 2022
Through digital photography and various cinematic tools, artist Jeremy Dennis — a tribal member of the Shinnecock Indian Nation in Southampton, NY — examines indigenous identity, cultural assimilation, and the ancestral traditional practices of the Shinnecock People.
His unique experience of living on a sovereign Indian reservation, combined with extensive research of archaeological and anthropological records, oral stories, and newspaper archives, allows him to trace issues that plague his, and other indigenous communities, back to their source.

Town of Johnsburg Library Book Signing with Glen Pearsall and Sterling Goodspeed
December 10, noon to 2 pm, Town of Johnsburg Library
The new edition of Glenn Pearsall’s Echoes In These Mountains, Second Edition, includes additional documentation of a French & Indian War warpath that passed through the area including pictures of a Revolutionary-Era “cannon” found unearthed along a local dirt road years ago, cannon balls of different diameters found in a garden in Bakers Mills by a local resident and a Revolutionary War French bayonet found near the east shore of Loon Lake.
Sterling Goodspeed’s True North is a collection of short stories tracing the history of a rural Adirondack community over the past sixty years. Each story provides a snapshot of a different time period in one small town, introducing the reader to a variety of characters and plot lines that illustrate the eclectic nature of the Adirondack landscape. When taken together, the snapshots create a photo album that memorializes small town living over the last half century.
