Finding Beauty in the Familiar shares a story of two perspectives from the first-place winners of Gallery @ LPCA’s 2020-21 Juried Shows. From the swirling textures and colors highlighted by Eleanor Sweeney’s playful photography to the warmth and light infused in Paul Pedersen’s lifelike oil paintings, both artists seek to reveal what is extraordinary about ordinary objects.

GRANTS FOR WINTER CARNIVAL AVAILABLE
A new fund at Adirondack Foundation, supported by the Madden Family, is offering grants to support participation in the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival.
According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the grants will range from $250 to $500 and can be used for floats, costumes and other expenses associated with formal participation.

The Strand Center for the Arts is looking for artists!
After closing their Main Gallery for the month of January to focus on painting and other renovations, the Strand will celebrate by hosting a Community Gallery Exhibition.
This upcoming exhibit will open in The Strand Center Main Gallery on Friday, February 4, 2022. A free reception will be held from 5 to 8 pm that night.
