AUSABLE THEATER NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Dear Friends, Family, and our Community,

As many of you know, we purchased the well loved theater located in the close-knit town of Au Sable Forks. We reached the crucial moment in our project: purchasing a new efficient HVAC system!

Community is feeling comfortable asking for help. And so we are launching a Kickstarter to help offset the costs involved in acquiring a new efficient heat/cool system for the building.

With a little help from our friends, we aim to celebrate the reopening of the Ausable Theater in September 2022.

We look forward to your support and thank you!

NUTCRACKER IN A NUTSHELL: PUBLIC PERFORMANCES CANCELLED

This weekend’s public performances of Nutcracker in a Nutshell are cancelled due to new incidences of COVID-19 in our community. As difficult as it is to change plans after many weeks of rehearsing and looking ahead to a beloved holiday event, the Lake Placid Center for the Arts (LPCA) has determined that the best way to support our dancers, their families and all our patrons is to take extra care when it comes to the health and safety of our extended community.

Instead of live performances, dancers will have the opportunity to record their scenes this weekend in a socially-distanced setting, to be included in a video compilation of this special version of the Nutcracker. More information about this will be available soon for families and anyone else interested!

For all ticketholders, the LPCA will reach out directly with next steps.

The LPCA staff, board and co-production partners EMERGE125 want to thank you for your understanding and ongoing support as we work hard to continue sharing arts experiences during challenging times.

Questions can be directed to info@lakeplacidarts.org or the Box Office at 518.523.2512.

JOIN PIANO BY NATURE FOR A VERY SPECIAL VIRTUAL CONCERT

Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 7:00 pm

On December 11th, Piano by Nature is thrilled to present a pianist who represents the very best our musical community can offer. Daniel Linder was born in Westport, NY and went on to earn a doctorate in piano performance, has played concerts throughout Europe and the US, and is now teaching and performing at the University of Arizona at Tucson. He has generously offered to present a program of works by living composer Gabriela Lena Frank juxtaposed with a timeless work of Ludwig van Beethoven, discussing the interesting interplay and connection these works share.

More details, including how to sign up for the virtual concert, are HERE. There is no charge for this concert, though donations are gratefully accepted by Piano by Nature.
