Westport’s Spirit of Place Art Exhibit Will Celebrate Fifteen Years
Call for artwork
The fifteenth annual Spirit of Place Art Exhibit will open at Westport’s Heritage House Saturday, July 1. The exhibit will remain open all summer, closing September 4. All art will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit our local artists and Heritage House. Exhibition Hours are 10-3 Monday through Saturday, 1-3 Sunday. Closed Tuesdays.
What sets the exhibit apart is the tone set by its locally inspired title “Spirit of Place.” Whether the medium is oil, pastel, watercolor, ceramic, wood or fiber, the room and walls ultimately convey the spirit of the Champlain Valley.
As the Spirit of Place committee members assembled at the Westport Heritage House for the first time this year, each brought to the table her all too fresh memories of the show’s guiding light and champion, Meredith Johnston, who passed away in February. With open minds and hearts, committee members shared their knowledge and imagination, coming together to assume responsibilities for planning this year’s exhibit.
Artists interested in participating in the 2023 Spirit of Place exhibit may contact Lora Langston at 518-962-4421.
