Piano by Nature would like to give you the best kind of Mother’s Day gift—a concert of budding young musicians who represent the very best in our area; a concert which will allow you see the bounty of what we musically grow here in the North Country.
PBN has created this special one-day concert opportunity to recognize and celebrate our students’ passion and dedication to music, their countless hours of practice and their willingness to remain open to critique from a variety of mentors along the way- dispositions that will serve them well no matter which paths they may choose to take in life!
The students featured on this program range from middle school through college and have been immersed in every possible kind of musical offering to be had in our region. From traditional school music classes and ensembles, academics and athletics, school and community musical theatre, private lessons, NYSSMA Solo Festival, All-County, Area All-State, Conference All-State Festival, Ithaca College High School Gospel Choir Festival, the Adirondack Honors High School Gospel Choir Festival at PSU, opening for Kevin Burt at the Strand Theatre, the National Children’s Festival Chorus at Carnegie Hall- they simply do it all!

Ti Arts Presents

Garden Stepping Stones Work shop
Saturday, May 13, 9 am – 4 pm
Seven hour workshop limited to 8 participants; all abilities welcome.
Come and design your own beautiful stepping stone with Mary. You will leave with a beautiful work of art. In this Adirondack themed mosaic steppingstone class, you will create a unique steppingstone for your yard. You will choose your design from a number of different patterns, then select all the glass from a nice array of colors and textures. You will learn how to cut the glass and grind it to fit the pattern. You will then affix your focal point glass pieces to the stone with special cement and fill in the background with smaller pieces of glass. The cement needs to be totally dry before the stone can be grouted, so we will do a demonstration stone to show everyone how to apply the grout. You will be given the grout powder to take home for mixing and grouting in a few days.
$50/person, please bring cash or check. Please bring a bagged lunch.
To register please call (518) 251-2505 or email: director@tannerypondcenter.org
Mary Pokrentowski has been working with glass for over 30 years. She is especially fond of teaching others the joy of working with colorful glass. Mosaics are a great way to use up small pieces of glass left from larger projects. She also teach the copper foil stained glass method. Mary has taught classes at The View for several years, as well as Brennan Stained Glass Studio in Syracuse and in her home. Most of the items she makes are her own designs and she gives away most items as gifts and donations.
