ADK Folk School Artisan Exhibit

Widlund Gallery, Tannery Pond Center

Tuesday, July 5 thru Saturday, August 12

The Adirondack Folk School is honored to participate in this special exhibit at Tannery Pond where our talented artisan instructors can share their work with the North Creek community. In this collection, you will find pieces from several AFS Instructors including Dennis Wilson, a highly skilled chip carver, Mark Swanberry, a copper artisan, and Janet Flinchbaugh, a floor cloth stenciling artist.

The Adirondack Folk School, a non-profit organization founded in 2010, is focused on celebrating and preserving the cultural heritage of the Adirondacks through promoting creativity and self-reliance by teaching the arts, crafts and traditions that define our legendary region. Made up of local artisans, crafts people, and volunteers, we offer a non-competitive education that focuses on the student. Located in Lake Luzerne, NY with our annex in Lake George, we are situated in the southern Adirondack Park. The beauty and natural abundance of this environment has influenced the more than 50 artisan instructors who teach over 250 classes each year ranging from basket weaving, blacksmithing, woodworking, soap making, foraging, working with metal, making birch bark containers, canoe building and many more.
