Saranac Lakes ArtWorks Presents a FREE Artist Presentation

Sunday August 6, 1 – 4 pm

Saranac Lake ArtWorks, through their Visiting Artist program, is offering a FREE presentation by capitol-area artist Takeyce Walter.

She will demonstrate her mixed media painting technique with pastels and gouache. Walk-ins welcome.

Sunday is also the final day of her exhibit These Waters, at the VIC, which is open 9-5 daily. This event is funded through a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts. Hope to see you there!

Bryan Briscoe, Founder of the Artist of the Champlain Valley Arts and Crafts Club, curates the Group exhibit, which includes paintings by Brendan Bush from Burlington, photography by Kt Falzetta from Plattsburgh, and paintings by Briscoe, from Saranac.

The Gallery is open for walk ins Saturdays in August starting August 5, 11-3 pm
Starting Friday, August 11, the Gallery will also be open to public on Fridays 10-1 pm.

Come and hang out with Alex and friends at this exclusive Essex Day pop-up art exhibit featuring intriguing collages and mobiles by Plattsburgh artist (and SpeakEazy Co-host) Alex Clark.

See how Alex mixes scenic landscapes and absurd subjects to provoke dialogue about our relationship with the built and natural environments, consumerism, tradition, and the occasional fascination with transportation.

Works by Rembrandt, Chagall among additions to Glens Falls’ Hyde Collection

Though most of the art at the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls was collected by museum founders Charlotte and Louis Hyde, the curators continue to acquire new works to expand and diversify the museum’s collection. This summer, they’re displaying a group of ten recent acquisitions.

Essex Theatre Company Presents

Essex Theatre Company will present the Essex Talent Show Saturday, August 5, at 7 pm. Talent in the larger Essex Community will be featured onstage from instrumentalists to vocalists to stand up. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased HERE. This is on the evening of Downtown Essex Day!

Essex Theatre Company will present the original musical Sounds Like Essex, created and directed by Bill Feehely with Heather Maxey August 17, 18, 19 at 7 pm. The characters in the piece are based on members of the Essex and surrounding community. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased HERE.
