Gather with hunters, fishermen, trappers and people of the Adirondacks. Explore vendor booths including taxidermy, fly fishing, rafting, outdoor guides, gun safety, and kids’ activities. Bring your whole camp, your family, your friends and celebrate the culture and camaraderie with live music, craft beer, food trucks, and a chili cook off! We also will have a raffle where you can win great prizes.

Art/Work Speaker Series featuring Local Poet Karyn Crispo

Join SLC Arts at the Potsdam Public Library as we discuss the arts economy of the North Country with local poet, Karyn Crispo, as a part of the ongoing Art/Work Speaker Series!
A poet, author, and teacher, Karyn Crispo’s collection of poems, Building a Second Home, was nominated for the Massachusetts Book Award and the Pen New England Literary Award. Crispo leads writing workshops for those incarcerated at the local county jail and is an advocate for restorative justice.
The Art/Work Speaker series is free and open to the public.

The 26th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival

Film lovers are invited to join over 100,000 film enthusiasts around the world to view and vote on 10 short films when the 26th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival screens at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.
The Final Ten screen simultaneously across the world during a one-week period, with the Best Film and Best Actor awards determined by ballots cast by the audiences in each participating venue. By virtue of their selection by MANHATTAN SHORT, each short film is automatically Oscar-qualified.
The Final Ten MANHATTAN SHORT finalists hail from seven countries with films from Australia, Afghanistan, Finland, Iran, Switzerland, UK and Canada alongside three films from the USA. These Final Ten Films represent the best short films from among 850 submissions from 72 countries received by MANHATTAN SHORT for 2023, testimony to the enduring vibrancy and creativity of short films worldwide.

Todd Barry has released three one-hour stand-up specials, including his latest one for Netflix, Spicy Honey. He’s appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Show with David Letterman, Conan, and Late Night with Seth Meyers. His acting credits include The Wrestler, Road Trip, Flight of the Concords, Chappelle’s Show, Spin City, & Sex and the City. You may have heard his voice on the animated series Bob’s Burgers, Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Todd is also the author of the critically-acclaimed 2017 travel memoir Thank You for Coming To Hattiesburg.
