6th Annual Ticonderoga FallFest Takes Place September 30th

Event Continues to Expand

Fall is in the air and the 6th Annual Ticonderoga Area FallFest is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 with a variety of fall-themed events and activities for all ages. This festival will take place throughout the day and into the evening, with most aspects taking place in Percy Thompson Bicentennial Park. Community members and visitors are encouraged to join the fun as the Ticonderoga Area celebrates the fall season with food, family fun, live music, farmers market, fireworks, and so much more.

FallFest is a must-do event in the region which always takes place the last Saturday of September in Ticonderoga. The event is being organized by the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership (TMSP) in coordination with the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC), as well as several local businesses and organizations.

Children’s activities and the live entertainment for FallFest 2023 are sponsored in part by an ECAC CAP grant.

Activities include a Farmer’s Market, carnival games, a bounce house, face painting and other children’s activities. Music will include a performance by the Ticonderoga Alumni Fife & Drum Corp at 2:00pm. The activities will stretch into the evening with an area restaurant food fest, a beer garden and more live music.

Tahawus Center Mural Progress Update

Trompe L’Oeil artist Georgeanne Gaffney will be adding finishing touches over the next few days. All are welcome to stop by. Join us at an “unveiling celebration” of the Tahawus Mural Project: A Sense of Place.

Park/enter from the municipal parking lot (off Rt. 9n in Au Sable Forks) to the “Grotto” (between Tahawus and the next-door Ausable Theater-Hollywood Theater) on Saturday, September 30, 4-5:30 pm to meet the artist and enjoy the finished work.

Don’t miss the high energy trip back in time that reminds the audience how uniquely inspirational, entertaining, and historically significant the music and events of the 1960’s was and continues to be. The Sixties Show (from NYC) is The Greatest 1960’s Musical Re-Creation Show on Earth. The band features former band members of The Who, Bob Dylan, and NBC TV’s Saturday Night Live band.

Heritage, Harvest, and Horse Festival

September 30, 2023, 10 – 5
Fort Ticonderoga, surrounded by magnificent autumn backdrops of the Adirondacks and Green Mountains will present the Annual Heritage, Harvest, & Horse Festival on September 30, 2023. The full day of autumn fun will be set in the midst of the King’s Garden heirloom apple trees and the beautiful landscape of the mountains and Lake Champlain.

Guests are invited to discover the historical importance of horses and other working animals during exciting demonstrations, meet our friendly oxen duo, stroll through Fort Ticonderoga’s farmers’ market featuring local food, beverages, and crafts, participate in family fun activities, and tackle the six-acre Heroic Corn Maze. This fall favorite event, combined with daily Fort Ticonderoga programs, makes for a great annual family tradition.

The Charlie Millard Band Live at Upper Jay Art Center

Saturday, September 30, 8 – 9:30 pm

From Michigan’s northern lower peninsula, the Charlie Millard Band has developed a unique sound, voice and thought-provoking lyrics/poetry of their own, with tones of an indie-Americana style that is reminiscent of a 60s/70s ’ folk/rock, singer/songwriter. Always playing lots of festivals and venues across the Midwest and Canada, including Earthwork Harvest Gathering, BlissFest, FarmBlock Fest, The Ark in Ann Arbor, and sold out shows with artists like The Accidentals, Seth Bernard, Cedric Burnside, and The Go-Rounds among others. With percussionist Will Harris, Jercat Millard on guitars, and Charlie on the keys/organ/Rhodes bass, they strive to give you a musical experience, like small movies for the ears.

The 26th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival

Presented by the Champlain Valley Film Series

Saturday, September 30, 7:30 pm

You be the judge! Join over 100,000 fellow film lovers in more than 500 theaters on six continents and pick your favorites during the 26th Annual Manhattan Short global film festival.

The team at Manhattan Short have chosen 10 short films from hundreds of submissions to create a magical evening. There is something for everyone here; these films are dramatic, hilarious, quirky, and inspiring. Past selections have won Oscars. When you arrive, you’ll be handed a voting card. At the end of the show, you can pick one film and one actor/actress you think is the best. Votes will be sent to the Manhattan Shorts headquarters and the winners will be announced on October 9th.
