Ladies Night Out

Felt Wreath

November 15, 2023, 5:30 – 7 pm

Get ready for the winter holidays and spend an evening crafting with your friends!

Create your very own felt wreath made from your choice of different colored felt. Whether you choose to create a festive green wreath, a winter-white wreath, or come up with a creative design of your own, you will leave with a beautiful project that is uniquely yours!

The cost of the class includes all of the materials needed to create the wreath as well as two drink tickets. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends and family for a fun night full of festive crafting!

Please be in touch if you have any questions, need more information, or just need the encouragement to do this. The Tahawus Workshops are a new series. Attendance tends to be modest, 4-6 participants, but can be any size at all. The main thing is that Tahawus wants to showcase your skills and make engaging ways to draw our community together.

Adirondack Center for Writing Barkreaders series

Poet Richard Levine

Wednesday, November 15, 7 – 8 pm

The next installment of the Adirondack Center for Writing’s Barkreaders series will feature poet Richard Levine.

Levine is a poet from Seward, NY, and will read from his latest collection, Now in Contest. His reading will be followed by an open mic, which offers attendees a chance to share up to five minutes of their writing in front of an audience.

Admission to the event is free, with a suggested donation at the door; RSVP HERE.

Levine is a retired teacher and author of Now in Contest, Selected Poems, Contiguous States and five short paperbacks. An advisory editor at BigCityLit.com, he is the recipient of the 2021 Connecticut Poetry Society Award, and was co-editor of “Invasion of Ukraine 2022: Poems.” To learn more about Levine, visit HERE.

Jeff Wigman has shown regularly since moving his studio upstate in 2006. His work has been exhibited in venues such as The Albany Institute of History and Art, Albany, NY; Opalka Gallery, Albany, NY; The Hyde Collection, Glens Falls, NY; Manifest Gallery, Cincinnati,OH; Bowery Gallery, Manhattan; Good Naked Gallery, Brooklyn; and Kunstverein Eisenstadt, Austria. Jeff earned a BFA in painting and sculpture from Parsons School of Design in 1992. He grew up in southern Ohio and lives and works in Troy, New York.
