MINIATURE QUILT WORKSHOP WITH THE FIBERISTAS

February 26th, 11 am-12 pm

Fiberistas Kathy Burns and Adele Vandenburgh will be at The TAUNY Center 11-Noon on Saturday, February 26 to help you make an original 5”x7” miniature quilt that you can frame. Using fabric scraps, fusible bond, and card stock, participants will learn the basics of color balance, proportion, and add their own creativity to create a collage-style “quilt” to take home. No sewing will be involved. All skill levels are welcome. All materials and supplies will be provided.

Cost is $10/person, $5 for TAUNY Friends. Pre-registration is required. Class size is limited to 10. To register, click HERE.

This will also be a great opportunity to see the exhibit The Fiberistas: Studies in Black & White, on display at The TAUNY Center through February 26.

BRINGING DIMENSIONS TO YOUR STORY
One-time drop-in Writing Class with novelist and YA author Chris Tebbetts

Wednesday 3/16 7-9 pm, via Zoom

You’ll take a closer look at your work in progress—story arc, individual scenes, settings, character, and theme—with the goal of infusing your story with more dimension, more humanity, and more resonance. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to be economical when adding depth to your writing, so that each of your story elements accomplishes more than one thing at a time. The session will include a selection of hands-on exercises, a 15 minute work session, a discussion/Q&A, and a crash-course in visual outlining.
