Devising Dialogue: Writing from Plays

With LJ Schwartau

Wednesday, April 17, 7 – 8:30 pm

Through generative writing exercises, students will create dialogue, set scenes, and write stage directions. With prompts, individual participants will create short solo monologues, and the group will also devise scenes collaboratively based on a short play reading.

Adirondack Film and the Lake Placid Film Festival (November 7-10) are excited to present the Catalyst Episodic Showcase! This boundary-pushing program is in partnership with Catalyst Story Institute, the official mentorship partner of the National Academy of TV Arts & Sciences.

Catalyst is accepting video and pitch entries for new television, webseries, and podcasts currently in the development phase. A curated selection of episodic video and pitches will be chosen by the Catalyst team to screen in the showcase with winning pitches presenting in person at the film festival.
