Moving Stills: A Fusion of Film and Poetry

Thursday, April 25, 7 – 8:30 pm

Moving Stills is a unique collaboration celebrating National Poetry Month, with attendees treated to an evening of artistry inspired by the fusion of film and poetry.

The event will showcase poetry inspired by twelve short films created by artist and filmmaker Michael Hart. Each film serves as a catalyst for poetic expression, as six talented North Country Poets lend their voices to interpret and respond to the visual narratives.

Featured poets include Tyler Barton, Isabelle Bohl, jim bourey, Sylvia Karman, Erica Kelso, and Ethan Shantie, each bringing their own unique style and perspective to the event.

Refreshments will be served and admission to Moving Stills is free, with donations appreciated to support future poetry events.

Sarah will be demoing at least 8 different atmospheric skies in this workshop. From limited palette 2-color sketches to suggest a foggy morning, to 3-color demos to create dramatic sunsets. From storm clouds to sunny days. We will not be creating a finished painting but will be doing sky exercises with color mixing, ratio of pigment to water, wet in wet, and wet in dry. Paint along if you like or sit back and just watch. The video will be available for 3 weeks for you to replay and practice.
