BluSeed Studios awarded $25,000 for floor replacement

By the New York State Council on the Arts

BluSeed Studios announced today a grant award totaling $25,000.00 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support the organization’s floor replacement. This grant is part of a capital project funding announcement by NYSCA, which totals over $32 million to 102 capital projects across New York State.

With this grant, we will be able to finish our upstiars by putting down a fun and colorful high traffic sound cancelling floor in our upstairs gallery, kitchen, studios and two bathrooms.

Among Friends

Thursday, May 9, 4 – 6 pm

Artists are invited to bring in a couple of pieces of their work, either completed or in process, to be constructively critiqued by their peers in a supportive, encouraging environment. Peer art critiques help bring different perspectives to an artist’s work, enhancing understanding of where a piece or series might be going, what might be working really well, or what might need a little more work.

This event is free and open to all artists and art enthusiasts.

Seasons: A Two-Person Art Exhibition

Nancy Brossard and Mary Woodcock Johnson

Thursday, May 2 thru Saturday, June 8, 2024
Opening Reception Thursday, May 2, 5 – 7 pm

Spring is a new beginning, Summer means flowers and walks and outside activities, Fall is color and brisk days, and Winter evokes cold, snow, ice and dormancy. Interpreting the changing seasons in their paintings is a theme embraced by the artists. Nancy and Mary view the Adirondack seasons through painting by personal expression and interpretation of the landscape. Whether they are painting Plein Air or in their studios, they bring a history of painting the landscape of the Adirondacks to their oil and acrylic paintings.
