Seagle Festival Season Preview

Now in its 109th anniversary season, The Seagle Festival is the premier opera and music theater producing organization in the Adirondack region of upstate New York, as well as the oldest summer vocal training program in the United States.

Saranac Lake’s Third Thursday ArtWalks begin this week

Third Thursday ArtWalks return this summer, starting this Thursday, June 20.

Organized and hosted by Saranac Lake ArtWorks and the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce (SLACC), the 2024 ArtWalks series will be held along the streets of downtown Saranac Lake from 5 – 7:30 pm on June 20, July 18, Aug 15 and Sept 19. There are already over 55 artists signed up for June—painters, musicians, weavers, authors, jewelers, photographers, wood carvers and more!

The Station will provide entertainment at the Berkeley Green Bandshell from 5 – 7:30 pm and other artists—June in the Woods, Nubble, Steve McAuley, Russ Cook, Galen Halasz & Glenn Burnett—will perform along the sidewalks throughout the evening.

Registration for the Third Thursday ArtWalks will remain open through the summer and is free for artists of all backgrounds and skill levels. Visit HERE to learn more and to register online.

Invitation To All Artists

Saranac Lake ArtWorks is proud to be collaborating with Green Side of the Big Apple to host an art exhibit that coincides with the Third Annual Hotel Saranac Guideboat Show.

Artists are invited to submit 1 or 2 pieces of art compatible with the theme of the Adirondack Guideboat Show—featuring human powered recreation.

Work in any medium, framed and with hanging wire on the back will be accepted for display in the Oak Room, next to the Ballroom, in the Hotel Saranac. Display racks will be provided by Artworks.

Dates:
July 1 12 noon – 3 pm, deliver framed art
Reception 4-5pm; Show open until 8pm
July 2-8 Guideboat and art exhibit open 12 noon – 8pm daily

Adirondack artist Jessie Furnia has a passion for art and love of people. She will guide you step by step through your painting process with fun, laughter and some great tunes!

She is known for working with all ages and all abilities, including those that have never picked up a brush.

You will leave with a sense of accomplishment, new friends and two unique 16 x 20 canvas pieces.

The program will run from July 8th to August 16th, Monday-Friday with morning and afternoon sessions.

Morning sessions will run from 9 to 12 pm.
