Micro-Grants for Artists
The Essex County Arts Council is pleased to announce the 2024 Sunburst Award, a microgrant opportunity for artists of all genres. This program supports creators of art in Essex County by providing a stipend of up to $500 toward a project, training or an activity that will further an artist’s career. Do you have a pet project you’ve been dying to try but are a little short on materials, money for PR, or do you want to learn a new technique that could take your art to the next level? Through the Sunburst Awards, ECAC has funded projects including musical composition, publishing exhibit catalogs, creating musical instruments, ichthyography, comic books, watercolor exhibits, photography, creative writing workshops, framing and book sculpture.
The application deadline is October 1st. A simple, straightforward application is available, as is assistance in preparing a request. The application can be found on the ECAC website: www.essexcountyarts.org.
For more information, please contact us at 518.227.1242 or admin@essexcountyarts.org.

Again for 2024, the Meredith Johnston Memorial Sunburst Award, funded by the Westport Heritage House, will be presented to an artist who best represents the community spirit that Meredith exemplified.
