Downtown Artist Cellar Presents

Be a Street Artist and Help Create Our Community Mural

Be a Street Artist, Tuesday September 3 to Thursday, September 5, 12-6 pm

Mural Celebration, September 6th, 5-7 pm

Join us in finishing our community mural with multidisciplinary visual artist Beatriz Leonardo. Now in her final week of residency with The Thrive Project, Beatriz has spent the past two weeks collaborating with the community to bring this meaningful artwork to life. The mural, inspired by our rich local history and the spirit of our community, is being painted behind the Downtown Artist Cellar on wall space generously donated by IBC and celebrates our shared story of resilience, generosity, and connection.

Drop in Tuesday through Thursday from 12-6 pm to contribute to the mural—whether it’s on your lunch break, after work, or after school. All ages are welcome, with children under 12 accompanied by an adult. Just a few moments of your time will make a difference. Then, come celebrate the finished work on Friday from 5-7 pm. No experience is needed—just bring your creativity and community spirit! Let’s make Art and Community together!

The bestselling book is now a movie!  The story of a girl in search of a lake monster….

Lucy and the Lake Monster is a family-friendly movie about an 8-year-old orphan girl named Lucy who believes in the legendary sea serpent “Champ” of Lake Champlain. Lucy and her grandfather, “Papa Jerry”, search for Champ despite mockery and opposition from mercenary forces. The story is based on over 300 real-life accounts and legends of a large, horned monster that has lived in Lake Champlain since before the time of indigenous Abenaki and Iroquois people. The movie stars Emma Pearson as Lucy and Richard Rossi as Papa Jerry.
