by Eva Kusmerik Stamper
Through Wednesday, November 20, 20244:00 PM
Eva Kusmirek Stamper is a Polish born artist who came to United States forty seven years ago and settled in New York City where she studied Art at Hunter College and Art Students Ligue. She moved from NYC to Adirondacks in 2018 and permanently settled in North River in 2021.
The subject of her painting is broad, it includes figurative art/portraiture, still life and focusing lately on landscape. In Eva’s words, “It’s hard not to be infatuated and seduced by a beauty of Adirondacks, it is a never-ending inspiration for any artist. It opens your eyes wider to its magnificence.”

APPLY NOW!
Earlier this year, the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts (ALCA) regranted more than $250,000 to arts and cultural organizations, municipalities, teaching artists, and arts creators in the Adirondack (ADK) Quad-County Region that is comprised of Clinton, Essex, Franklin and Hamilton counties and the Akwesasne tribal community of the Saint Regis Mohawk Territory along the U.S.-Canadian border northeast of Malone, NY.
Now ALCA is pleased to open the application window for a significantly smaller, yet still substantial pot of remaining 2024 Statewide Community Regrants (SCR) funds provided by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).
Please see the four-page “Grants” section of ALCA’s website HERE for such info/material as a PDF of the guidelines, scheduling a grant-application consultation with the grant coordinator, the link to the application forms in Submittable (shown in red in the “How to Apply” subsection on the “Current or Upcoming SCR Cycle” page), MS Word templates of the applications forms, and various grant resources.

Mural project coming to Ti
Artwork will transform downtown
The Sun Community News‘ Shaundra Barlett Yew profiled the new pilot program of public art installations thanks to the Essex County Land Bank in partnership with the North Country Rural Development Coalition (NRDC).
The Mural Festival initiative will aim to transform spaces near blighted, vacant, and abandoned properties through the creation of five murals with the intention of not only fostering community pride, but encouraging economic revitalization.
You can read the full exciting story HERE.

This spring, five downtown buildings will be the recipient of high caliber mural artwork in an effort to transform blight and boost the local economy. “If we can get people to stop and take a picture, maybe they will stop and buy a coffee and visit our shops,” said Essex County Land Bank Executive Director Nicole Justice Green.
