Hill and Hollow Music Presents
ARKAI & Martin Shamoonpour
Sunday, November 3, 3 pm

Electroacoustic duo ARKAI has been creating a tsunami of enthusiasm in the North Country and Vermont with electrifying live performances that fuse classical virtuosity with the electricity of rock and the spontaneity of jazz. Juilliard-trained artists Jonathan Miron and Philip Sheegog transform the beautiful tones of violin and cello into epic soundscapes. With “Crossroads,” their debut album of originals, they have charted a new course in music for the 21st century. The November 3rd show at the historic Strand Theater in Plattsburgh is the capstone event of their “Crossroads” tour and they are pulling out ALL the stops with an extravagant light show and video projections. Further artist info and videos HERE.

A special opening act by Assyrian artist Martin Shamoonpour— another favorite with Hill and Hollow Music audiences—will be “icing on the cake.” A virtuoso on the daf and flutes, jaw harp and more, Martin will introduce his latest super-cool music project with bassist Kenny Vymislicky, blending Middle Eastern folk with electronic and ambient sounds. Martin has performed widely with Journey West, the Dara Anissi Ensemble, and David Krakauer’s “Good Vibes Explosion.”
Tickets for ARKAI and Martin & Kenny are available in person at the Strand Center for the Arts box office or HERE.
