9 Worst Breakups of All Time

Friday, November 22, 4:30 pm

North Country School’s (NCS) seventh, eighth, and ninth graders will tackle Ian McWethy’s one-act play, “The 9 Worst Breakups of All Time,” during their fall theatrical production.

Written by prolific playwright Ian McWethy, the plot follows a high school student navigating her first real heartbreak. After being broken up with in the “worst possible way,” a representative from a nonprofit organization called “Relationships for a Better Tomorrow,” arrives on the scene to take the leading lady on a journey through time to reveal that her breakup isn’t as bad as it seems.

In December, students will showcase the play as part of the New York Thespians One Act Competition. Students from high school, elementary, and middle schools from the Northeast will be competing for the chance to participate in the NY Thespian Festival in March 2025.

Attendance is free and members of the public are invited to attend. No RSVP is necessary.
