FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR ARTISTS

Creatives Rebuild New York (CRNY) is a three-year, $125 million investment in the financial stability of New York State artists and the organizations that employ them.

CRNY will provide guaranteed income and employment opportunities for 2,700 artists whose primary residence is in New York State. These two programs will work to alleviate unemployment of artists, continue the creative work of artists in partnership with organizations and their communities, and enable artists to continue working and living in New York State under less financial strain.

SCR GRANTS PROGRAM SEEKS PANEL REVIEWERS & OTHER VOLUNTEER INDIVIDUALS & ORGANIZATIONS

Being a grant applicant is only one way to participate in the Statewide Community Regrants (SCR; formerly Decentralization or DEC) program. Other key roles include:

Panel reviewers. For each annual grant cycle, Community Arts and Arts Education applications are evaluated by a panel of reviewers who assess each proposed project on its own merits, as well as in comparison to the other applications. To help ensure as balanced and diverse a panel as possible, individual artists and arts organization members of all kinds, as well as people who simply love the arts, are encouraged to volunteer now. Panelists for the recently submitted 2022 applications are currently being sought (please see below for contact info to learn more).

Auditors and fiscal sponsors. Once the 2022 SCR awards are determined and projects begin to take place later this year, arts enthusiasts will be needed to serve as auditors, attending SCR-grant-supported events and reporting on how successful they are at meeting the requirements of the guidelines.

To learn more about serving as a 2022 panel reviewer or auditor, as well as a fiscal sponsor for the 2023 grant cycle and beyond, please contact SCR Grant Coordinator Fred Balzac at Fred’s work email or 518-588-7275 and visit the Grants section HERE.
