Wishing all our wonderful ADK A&E subscribers the very happiest holiday season!

We will be celebrating on Wednesday, December 25, and
ADK A&E e-News will not be published—but we’ll be back on
Friday, December 27.

Join us for a special winter-themed Storytime at the Museum as we read Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin, which tells the inspiring story of Wilson Bentley, the first person to capture the unique beauty of snowflakes on film.

Afterward, we’ll make paper snowflakes you can take home and use to add a frosty touch to your winter décor!

This program is intended for children ages 5-9 but is open to all. Parental participation is encouraged, and supervision is required.

This program is free and does not require registration.

The Waterhole Presents

Sophistafunk, with special guest Organ Fairchild

Tuesday, December 31, 2024, doors open 7:30, show 8:30 pm

Celebrate the Waterhole’s annual New Year’s Eve Bash with Sophistafunk—the unstoppable funk hip hop dance party that hails from Syracuse, NY. They’ve been described as” Rage Against the Machine meets The Roots, dipped in P-Funk.” They’ve become widely known on the touring circuit as a rare hip hop meets live electronic jam band. Some folks may recognize them as celebrity chef Guy Fieri’s house band.

Special guests Organfaridchild, hail from Buffalo, NY and will kick things off on 12/31. This trio of friends has been playing music together since the early 1980’s. They took their stab at writing original music together a few short years ago. Think old-school organ trio, with dance-heavy grooves and adventurous jamming, shake vigorously.

Enjoy all night long. Tickets for both shows can be purchased at the bar and HERE.

The Polar Express

Friday, December 27, 2024, 2 – 4 pm. free

The Polar Express is a 2004 American animated Christmas adventure film directed by Robert Zemeckis, who co-wrote the screenplay with William Broyles Jr., based on the 1985 children’s book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg. It stars Tom Hanks (in multiple roles), Daryl Sabara, Nona Gaye, Jimmy Bennett, and Eddie Deezen.

The film depicts human characters using live action and motion capture computer animation, with production sequences for the latter taking place from June 2003 to May 2004. Set on Christmas Eve, it tells the story of a young boy who sees a mysterious train bound for the North Pole stop outside his window and is invited aboard by its conductor. He joins other children as they embark on a journey to visit Santa Claus, who is preparing for Christmas.

No reservations required, we will fill our auditorium of 158 but cannot overfill. Refreshments will be served!

Children are welcomed to come in PJs and bring their blankets!
