New Member Opening at NorthWind Fine Arts
Becky Johnson
Friday, January 31, 5-7 pm
NorthWind Fine Arts is very pleased to welcome new member Becky Johnson.
Becky brings a new dimension to the gallery with her unique wall art pieces made of reclaimed wood. Startlingly beautiful, they capture the old and new essence of the Adirondacks in a fresh way.
Becky writes, “My evolution of working with wood in an artistic way began due to an abundance of scrap pieces from our fixer-upper, project house. I am drawn to upcycling in a way that reclaims what was heading to the garbage or the stove, and creates a new purpose for the material. Weathered farm fencing, barn boards or house renovation scraps. Experimenting with various ways they can come together to create a wood canvas. Each time, I hope that the living quality of the wood itself can be brought forward to enliven the pieces, with it’s own nuanced patterns, texture and patina.”

New Music Inspired by People, Places, and Life in Our Local Communities
“All along this road there are people that I know, The homes of friends and neighbors light the way as darkness starts to fall, We may not always agree but we are a community. And our journey never ends along this road.”
Right now seems a perfect time for sharing new music inspired by life in our local small-town communities. The chorus shared above comes from one of the new songs, originally born of an inspiration from years ago that came to me as I drove home in the evening from a lovely gig at the Au Sable Forks Library. It’s been waiting to be “born” for quite a while.
Please RSVP HERE; you’ll be emailed the link. The casual concert is free; generous heart donations will be welcome.
