On February 28, we will be featuring a ski movie night with two brand new documentaries.  One features the revival of Hickory Hill in Warrensburg while the second features two men who summited and backcountry skied the 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks.  Both film makers will be in attendance and we will offer a Q&A to find out more about each film.

Newtok

Wednesday, February 19, 7 pm

Our mid-winter film series, come take a journey with us every Wednesday in February.

About Newtok: Water will erase Newtok, Alaska. Built on land that was once frozen year-round, the foundation of the tiny Yup’ik village has been sinking and eroding for decades. To keep their culture and community intact, the 360 residents must relocate their entire village to solid ground across the river while facing the indifference of a federal government that refuses to recognize climate change. Directed by Andrew Burton, Michael Kirby Smith.

Waitress: The Musical

On-Screen

Friday, February 21, 2025, 7 pm

Experience the hit Broadway musical on the big screen at LPCA with a helping of famous Noon Mark pie!

This musical film is the live stage recording of Waitress: The Musical, featuring composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles as Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. When a baking contest in a nearby county offers her a chance at escape, Jenna fights to reclaim a long-forgotten part of herself.

Through the support of her fellow waitresses and an unexpected romance, Jenna begins to find the courage to take a long-abandoned dream off the shelf. Waitress celebrates the power of friendship, dreams, the family we choose and the beauty of a well-baked pie.

We’re very excited to partner with the Noon Mark Burger & Pie Joint, who’ll be sweetening the deal with free slices of pie before the film and whole pies available for purchase (cash only)!
