Arts Funding Deadline Approaches!
The Essex County Arts Council is pleased to announce that the 2025 Cultural Assistance Program (CAP) Grant program is going strong!
Applications are available HERE. For any arts group, historical society, preservation program, library, museum, organization or town providing public cultural programs for Essex County residents, this is an opportunity to request funding. The CAP application deadline is March 15, 2025.
CAP grants will support a wide range of activities, events and programs. Artists fees, program expenses, one-time use of materials for workshops, partial fees for program administration, advertising, rental space for a cultural event, equipment rental, lighting, sound, costumes, and professional fees are examples of what the CAP program will support. Each program may be funded up to $1,000. For any questions, please email Susan Hughes, ECAC Arts Administrator at admin@essexcountyarts.org.
In 2024, sixty organizations received funding totaling $40,000. This grant program is made possible by the generosity of the Essex County Board of Supervisors, Stewarts Shops, and ECAC’s loyal supporters.

The Strand Center for the Arts presents
Almost Queen
A Tribute to Queen
March 15, 2025, 8 pm
Almost Queen’s concerts are a true testament to the band’s love for Queen’s music. Fans often travel long distances just to experience Almost Queen’s carefully curated setlist featuring Queen’s best-loved songs, like Somebody to Love, Don’t Stop Me Now, Fat Bottomed Girls, and Radio Ga Ga. Almost Queen occasionally plays some lesser-known album tracks, such as Flash, Spread Your Wings, Love of My Life, as well as other hidden gems. And of course, no Queen tribute concert would be complete without classics like Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, and We Are the Champions! It’s no wonder fans keep coming back for more, attending again and again to experience the music of Queen in a manner that only Almost Queen delivers.

He cites the luminosity found in the works of Rothko and Turner as inspiration for his paintings. Steve brings a unique background and manifold interests to his artwork.
