Hague Historical Society Presents

The Cave and Other Spirits of the Past

Wednesday, June 25, 7 pm (Doors open at 6:30 pm). Free.

Mention the word ‘Cave’ in the town of Hague or Ticonderoga, and chances are stories will start flowing. The bar has been closed since 1987, so some of the stories have been somewhat embellished over the years. But it’s true that a motorcycle or two roared down the ramp and into the basement bar, running over a few flipflop-clad feet as they cruised around the room. And it’s also true that Alabama Slammers were served by the pitcher. These and other stories are ones that will surely be told at this event hosted by the Hague Historical Society. Enjoy a presentation about the Cave and the many other taverns, inns, and hotels located on this site, beginning in 1810. You’ll also hear tunes from the Cave’s jukebox and enjoy refreshment similar to those served at the bar.

An exhibit in the Hague Historical Museum’s displays original signage, photos, and artifacts from the Cave and its predecessors.
