Each year as summer wanes and we prepare for the long winter ahead, we pause to appreciate the glorious, crisp days and vibrant color of autumn in the Adirondacks. The featured exhibit at the Adirondack Artists Guild for the month of October will be “In Transition,” a members’ group show celebrating this beautiful and fleeting season.
The Guild’s fourteen members will each contribute one or more pieces to this fall-themed exhibit, including acrylic, oil and watercolor painting, photography, sculpture, woodcarving, pottery and handmade jewelry, showcasing the colors and textures of autumn.

NorthWind Fine Arts presents
Experimenting with Wood, by Becky Johnson
October, 2025
Opening reception Friday, October 3, 5 – 7 pm
NorthWind Fine Arts member Becky Johnson’s new collection of work displays her curiosity for working with reclaimed wood in a variety of ways. From recognizable landscapes to abstracts, and natural tones to bold colors, what connects the pieces together is the process of co-creating with the wood that she has on hand. House renovation scraps, weathered farm fencing and barn boards add their unique textures and patina and allow her process to be a playful experiment of what is possible.

Lake Flower Landing presents
Iva Bittová
Iva Bittová, an internationally-celebrated, Czech-based violin/vocalist., describes her approach as her “own personal folk music” combining improvisation and extended vocal techniques that are based in European-folk and classical music. Iva is by all measures remarkable: visceral, sensual, and connected to nature. Iva performs widely with her violin and is a featured vocalist with the Prague Philharmonic, with her European ensemble; Cikora, her American ensemble; Eviyan, the Calder and Skampa String Quartets. She collaborates with jazz and avant-garde luminaries.
“Iva Bittová is an extraordinary artist. Raw and refined, passionate and contained, she has the soul of a gypsy, the voice of a troubadour, and the mind of a genius.” –NPR/All Things Considered. A special guest will open the evening.
