Upper Jay Art Center and Recovery Lounge presents
Roochie Toochie and the Ragtime Shepherd Kings
Thursday, October 9, 7 pm
Join us for a night of whimsy, theatricality, and of course great music! Roochie Toochie and the Ragtime Shepherd Kings are taking over the Lounge and you don’t want to miss it.
When you see the Ragtime Shepherd Kings you’ll witness: fancy fiddling, dueling hawaiian guitars, ukelele wizardry, a menagerie of toy instruments, vocal harmonies that sound as if they were polished by hand, a musical pig “porkestra,” and whatever else the gang has up their sleeves.
The Roochie Toochies are a group of musician pals who joined forces because of their love of novelty music from the wax cylinder era and have brought to life music from 90-100 years ago in a way that delights people from 7-97.

Every well-told story—whether a novel or memoir—needs a great creative plan. An underlying “blueprint” that empowers the story with energy and interest and other storytelling skills.
As well, there are ways to develop memorable characters and riveting scenes that keep your readers turning pages.
This intensive workshop will span these all-important basics, and can launch your writing to new levels and help you on your way to success at selling your book to publishers.
Instructor David Hazard is a veteran of the publishing world, with 45 years in the field. As a coach, he has launched more than 500 authors in their writing careers. As a writer, he has published more than 30 books, including million-selling and internationally award-winning titles. He is the director of ASCENT, an international coaching program for authors.
