SLC Arts presents

Fragments

Thursday, November 20 – Tuesday, December 23

Opening reception Thursday, November 20, 5 – 7 pm

An exhibition exploring the pieces that make a whole.
This exhibition invites artists to reflect on what is broken, gathered, remembered, or rearranged. Whether literal or metaphorical, fragments can be physical materials, fractured memories, cultural inheritances, or personal moments revisited. Artists working in all mediums—collage, sculpture, painting, photography, digital, fiber, mixed media, and more—are encouraged to submit works that explore the beauty, tension, and meaning found in pieces, remnants, and reassemblies.

Whallonsburg Grange presents

Casey, McCaffrey, and O’Hara

Saturday, November 22, 7:30 pm

Patti Casey has performed at such elite levels of artistry for so many decades – songwriting, musicianship, performance, and social advocacy – that words like “acclaimed,” “magical,” and “transformative” only begin to capture the scope and reach of her talents. Through five majestic, award-winning albums, Patti has pioneered the creation of a unique New England genre of folk-storytelling-bluegrass whose signature sound has since been imitated yet remains unmatched.

Colin McCaffrey is a native Vermonter, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and award-winning record producer who has worked on hundreds of regional recordings and live productions. Lending his smooth voice and string wizardry to some of the best music coming out of these hills, Colin McCaffrey is what the Burlington Free Press calls “A Green Mountain treasure worth unearthing.”

Eric O’Hara is a North Country native and acclaimed pedal steel and dobro guitarist. He was Eric and Leigh Gibson’s first music teacher and has toured with The Gibson Brothers for many years. Eric plays many styles of music and regularly performs with other bands throughout the region.
