“WILD AT HEART” EXHIBIT COMING TO TAHAWUS GALLERY

Exhibit Opens May 14
Multi-media works by 3 Adirondack women artists.

Each artist has a particular and unique relationship with the natural wilds of the North Country. The exhibit will feature the paintings, drawings, and digital art works of Rachel Finn, the delicately fashioned botanical collages of Alison Haas, and the sculpture and pottery of Susan Burdick Young. It will run 6 weeks – May 14 to June 26, 2022, with opening and closing events. In addition, public outreach presentations by each artist are in the works, including one in the field of digital art, to occur in June with exact date to be determined. MICHAEL BURPOE WINS PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD

AT ADK ARTISTS GUILD

Each year, a local friend of the arts donates $100 for the People’s Choice Award at the ADK Artist Guild juried show. Visitors to the show are encouraged to vote for their favorite piece, and this year Michael Burpoe’s watercolor painting “Oh, How I Wish I Was at the Islands…” received the most votes.

“Oh, How I Wish I Was at the Islands…” may be viewed at the Blue Moon Cafe in Saranac Lake, along with other of Michael’s works.

SLC ARTS 2022 GRANT RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

SLC Arts distributes $84,000 annually to municipalities, libraries, 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations and individual artists, in Lewis, Jefferson and St. Lawrence Country, for the purpose of arts programming

Author Advice is a monthly, informal talk with an author (Q&A included!) about their personal paths to publication. They’ll break down why they did what they did to make their book a reality, and what they learned from it. If you’ve got a project finished or you hope to one day, this series is the perfect place to get some free tips, learn of new resources, and expand your writing community.
