Downtown Artist Cellar (DAC) presents
The Poem Village Project, a special evening of poetry
Thursday, April 16, 7 pm
Poets who submitted work to the Poem Village Project are invited to participate as featured readers, sharing their submitted poem along with up to three additional pieces. An open mic will follow, welcoming all voices—whether you participated in Poem Village this year or simply feel called to share your work.
As part of this regional initiative, Poem Village installations can be viewed throughout the community. In Malone, poems are on display at Nationwide Insurance, Nelson’s Flower Shop, and Café Nouveau. Additional installations can be found in the Salmon River and Akwesasne communities, including East End and Twin Leaf locations, as well as Bear’s Den. Poems are also installed across St. Lawrence County and in Saranac Lake, extending the reach of this shared literary experience throughout the North Country.
Poem Village is presented in collaboration with the Adirondack Center for Writing and SLC Arts, as part of a broader regional celebration of poetry across the North Country.
The event is hosted as part of Poetry @ DAC, an ongoing literary series led by poet jim bourey. The series brings together invited readers and open mic participants, creating space for connection, creativity, and shared expression through the written word.
