Whitcomb’s Gallery presents

Here Comes the Sun, Graphite Drawings from Dan Keegan

Thursday, July 2 – Saturday, August 29, 2026

Opening reception Thursday, July 9, 5 – 7 pm, Artist Talk at 6 pm

Dan Keegan is an artist of rare patience and purpose. Working in graphite on a large scale, he transforms personal photographs of the natural world into images that are at once intimate and vast—grounded in direct observation yet reaching toward the cosmic. In this exhibition, Keegan turns his attention to the sun: as a subject of beauty, a force of almost incomprehensible power, and a mirror for some of the most pressing questions of our time.

The Old Forge Library presents

Local ART

Thursday, July 2 – Saturday, August 1

Opening reception Thursday, July 2, 5 – 7 pm

Local ART is a group exhibit celebrating artists who love the Adirondacks and our community, and features two-dimensional artwork in a wide variety of mediums, including photography, oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, and collage. Several participating artists have generously designated a portion of their sales proceeds as donations to the library.

Artists represented in the exhibit range in age and include amateur to professional artists, and everyone in between. Some live in the area year-round, while others are seasonal residents. The exhibit reflects the creativity and diversity of the Adirondack arts community and offers something for everyone. The exhibit is intentionally held during the height of the summer season, both to welcome the widest possible mix of local and seasonal artists and to continue Mirnie Kashiwa’s longtime tradition of creating a community art show that brings as many people together as possible.
