7th Annual Pete Seeger Tribute
May 13 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Pete Seeger’s banjo is inscribed with the words, “This banjo surrounds hate and forces it to surrender.” Join us as we celebrate Pete’s Legacy by sharing music and stories together.
Pete’s Clearwater project, a replica of the historic sloops that once sailed the Hudson, allowed people to experience its beauty and be moved to preserve it. The Clearwater project helped to pass the Clean Water Act in 1972. Today, Clearwater continues to be a leader in ensuring clear water for all people. Pete stated, “I guess I’ve learned more from the Clearwater than anything else. All I did was help plant a seed.”
For this concert, local performers are freely offering their energy to celebrate Pete Seeger’s life and to help continue to clean the water and the preserve the earth.
There will be songs that Pete sang and some original music based in the folk tradition and storytelling. Travis Jeffery a former captain of the Clearwater and friend of the Seeger’s will share stories and will perform. He will be joined by, Colleen Corrigan, Dave Filsnger, Keith Gorgas, Duane Gould, Lisa and Klaus Meissner, Mark Palyswait, Tom Techman and Slo Jam, Carl Rubino, Bruce Thompson and others. Free refreshments will be provided by the bakers of the Presbyterian Church congregation.
It’s a free concert, though donations for the Clearwater will be accepted.
