Art & Science ArtWalks – “Zombie Fires” & Slough Creek
May 21 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Local artists and craftspeople display work in the Hotel Saranac Lobby from 5 – 6:30; then the Art & Science events will take place in the 2nd floor great room, including live music.
May 21:
Zombie Fires 6:30-8:00pm
Join us in the Oak Room on the second floor of Hotel Saranac, where you will be transported into the mysterious world of peatlands. Once peatlands catch fire beneath the surface, there is very little we can do to stop them. Dive underground to uncover the story behind zombie fires, and how we can keep these climate-disrupting monsters from awakening.
Next, enjoy interviews with local scientists and artists on a wide range of topics that live in the realms of art and science. Questions will be generated by the audience, and interviews will be hosted by Charlie Reinertsen.
Conclude the evening with a show from Slough Creek in the Great Hall Bar. 8:30-9:30pm
