Collector Talk: “The Photographs of James W. Mann”

July 13 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Speaker: Howard Kirschenbaum

To accompany the opening of an exhibition of James W. Mann’s painted photographs in the Museum’s Stoddard Gallery, Howard Kirschenbaum will describe how he acquired a major collection of early 1900s hand-colored photographs by Mann. He will also discuss his research into the life and work of this accomplished but little-known Adirondack photographer and colorist.

Howard Kirschenbaum has been a leader in historic preservation in the Adirondacks since the 1970s. He was instrumental in the preservation of Great Camps Sagamore, Uncas, Santanoni, White Pine Camp, and other historic places. Howard has written books on Sagamore, Santanoni, and White Pine. He is also the founder, first president, and long-time board member of Adirondack Architectural Heritage, the historic preservation organization for the Adirondack Park.

This program is free but requires a reservation. To register, please call (518)793-2826.
