Free Concert! Music for Clarinet and Strings

Wed Jul 26, 7:30pm, Historic Saranac Lake. Join us for a lively and engaging program of music for strings and clarinet by composers who have been hiding in plain sight! String trios by African American composers Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson and Irene Britton Smith, a solo cello work by English composer/conductor/festival organizer Imogen Holst by way of 17th c composer Martin Peerson, a duo for clarinet and viola by English composer (and Imogen Holst’s teacher!) Gordon Jacob, and a quartet for clarinet and string trio by queer American composer and copyist/editor Dennis Riley.
