JEMS SUMMER CONCERT: Too Tall String Band

The Too Tall String Band has spent 42 years turning northern stages into lively sing-alongs filled with Celtic reels, Adirondack fiddle tunes, Americana favorites and old-time country charm. Featuring multi-instrumentalists Rod Driscoll, Hap Wheeler and Bruce Lawson, the trio blends rich harmonies with banjo, dobro, bouzouki, dulcimer and guitar. From the Lake Placid Goodwill Games to packed pub nights at the Battle of Plattsburgh, their performances celebrate community, storytelling and audience participation. Influenced by folk traditions, bluegrass and classic Americana, the band delivers energetic concerts that feel both timeless and personal.

Pack a picnic dinner, gather your family and friends, and enjoy a season of live outdoor music by the gazebo at the beautiful Historic Jay Village Green!  In the event of rain, performances move indoors to the historic Amos & Julia Ward Theater at the same location.
Refreshments will be available from the volunteer-run Jay Entertainment & Music Society (JEMS), with donations gratefully accepted to support the ongoing maintenance and preservation of the Amos & Julia Ward Theater. Concerts are presented by JEMS in collaboration with the Town of Jay.
