June Poetry @ DAC
June 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Poetry @ DAC returns Thursday, June 18 at 7 PM featuring DAC’s House Poet, jim bourey, sharing work from several ongoing and published projects.
The evening will include selections from a new poetry collection currently supported by a 2026 NYSCA grant. Tentatively titled Backs Against the Border, the project explores how life along the international border in New York’s three northernmost counties has shaped the experiences of local residents and how those communities have changed over time.
jim will also read from Mountain Voices, an upcoming collection centered on the rise and decline of the iron mining communities of Lyon Mountain and Standish, along with favorite poems from his previously published books and collaborations.
As always, the evening promises thoughtful storytelling, conversation, and connection in a welcoming and approachable atmosphere.
Following the featured reading, Poetry @ DAC’s open mic invites community members to share poems of their own. Bring a poem or two, read for the crowd, and experience the power of shared words and lived stories.
Refreshments will be served.
Free and open to the public. Donations welcome.
