North Country Zine Fest

Join us for the second annual North Country Zine Fest!
October 18th from 12-5pm at Strand Center for the Arts.
Free to attend and open to all ages.

Zines (pronounced “zeen” – short for magazine):

– are self-published printed objects that come in many shapes & sizes
– are created and bound in many DIY ways, including photocopied, folded, stapled, sewn, taped, glued, or even unbound
– can be about any topic – music, art, politics, poetry, photographs and more
– can be written, drawn, collaged, or any other combo of words and images
– have virtually no rules!

What happens at a zine fest? There will be tables set up in the gallery at The Strand. Behind each table will be a zinester showcasing their zines and other items available for sale. You can chat with them, look at their zines, and buy what you are interested in. It’s a really fun environment filled with cool, creative folks from all different backgrounds. Some zines may look really polished and fancy and others may be homemade and DIY and that’s the beauty of zine fest!

The fest itself will run from 12PM – 5PM. There will be an interactive table for attendees who want to make their own zine, using materials supplied by The Strand.
