NOT Strictly Classical – Trillium Chamber Players
December 2 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

“Not Strictly Classical” is one way to describe the variety of music we are performing for flute, oboe, clarinet, viola, piano, drums, and bass in various combinations. Included are Valerie Coleman’s Portraits of Langston, Claude Bolling’s Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano, along with works by Piazzolla, Malcolm Arnold, Andy Scott, Jennifer Higdon, and Cenovia Cummins.
Even more exciting is the recent inclusion of Lewis Sheridan Hughes, descendant of poet, Langston Hughes. He will be reading several poems by Langston Hughes as part of the Valerie Coleman piece for flute, clarinet, piano and narrator. We’re very grateful to Martha Swan and the JBL organization for establishing this connection.
