Stop by the 1867 Schoolhouse Gallery this August for an exhibition of the works of Oil Painter Dennon Walantus.

The Event will run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the month of August from 11am to 3pm.

As an opening to the event Dennon will hold a painting demonstration on site form 11am to 3pm on Sat. Aug 1st and Sunday Aug. 2nd.

Dennon Walantus is a northern New York oil painter whose work is rooted in the Adirondack landscape. Raised in West Chazy, he began his formal path in art after taking an oil painting class at Clinton Community College, later continuing his studies through the BFA Program at SUNY Plattsburgh. His plein air and studio paintings explore the changing light, seasons, atmosphere, and weather of the northern Adirondacks, often beginning as quick outdoor oil sketches that are later developed into larger works.

The exhibition opens Saturday, August 1st and will remain on view through Sunday, August 30th.

The Old Schoolhouse Gallery is the Adirondack Art Association’s newest gallery and exhibition space, expanding the Association’s ability to showcase the work of its artist members in a dedicated, highly visible setting. The space supports featured exhibitions, demonstrations, classes, and creative programming, giving artists room to develop their vision, connect with audiences, and share their work more fully with the Essex and Adirondack arts community.
