People & Peaks ~ Annual Adirondack Stories

The public is cordially invited to join the Adirondack History Museum & the Grace Hudowalski Charitable Trust for the 2nd annual People & Peaks event. This year’s theme is Indigenous Peoples of the Adirondacks. Speakers include Melissa Otis, Curt Stager, and keynoter, David Kanietakeron Fadden (Patches of Snow). The program will also include a film showing of The Mountains Will Wait for You.
The Museum and exhibits will open at 9 AM with coffee and light fare. Programs begin at 10 AM. Lunch and refreshments will be included. A reception picnic will follow the program at 3 PM, with BBQ by the Elizabethtown Volunteer Fire Dept., celebrating the 86th Anniversary of the 46ers of Troy and the 75th Anniversary of the Adirondack 46ers, Inc. If you are a new 46er, bring your number for special gifts!
Admission and BBQ are free, but we appreciate RSVP’s for planning purposes.
This annual public education event continues the legacy of Grace Hudowalski, gathering mountain climbers and Adirondack wilderness enthusiasts to share their common experience and love of the Adirondack High Peaks, as well as encouraging public understanding and appreciation of the unique history and cultural heritage associated with the region and climbing the 46 high peaks.
