Stewards of the Water: Lake George Protectors, Past and Present
June 18, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Free
Lake George is known as the Queen of American lakes. This event is the launch of a new book (Stewards of the Water) about the men and women who played a key role in protecting Lake George throughout history. Many of the names will be familiar, including Seneca Ray Stoddard, John Apperson, Nobel laureate Irving Langmuir and Frank Leonbruno. The book highlights these individuals as well as organizations and individuals who are carrying on this tradition of stewardship today. Local musician Hui Cox will preview a musical piece relating to a museum-sponsored climate project and artist Tom Ryan will display the paintings he created for the Stewards of the Water book.
