Tahawus Fall-to-Spring Workshops: Learn about making – Spun Cotton Art with Tarah Delia
WHAT IS SPUN COTTON? Beloved because of the simplicity of the material and all the unique ways it can be transformed, this old-world craft is again popular. Folks are working with cotton in some really imaginative ways. Spun cotton is a spun, twisted assembly of fibers formed into a linear strand. Thought to be first invented in Germany in the 19th century, today people use it mainly for DIY craft projects.
Join us at Tahawus for Tarah’s Spun Cotton Workshop over two January Sunday afternoons, 1/21 and 1/28, from 1-3pm. TRY SOMETHING NEW!! Make a spun cotton sculpture or bust!

Part 2 – In January, Tarah Delia offers a more advanced project for adults and older teens which can be worked on over one or two sessions. Bring your own ideas / sketches. Bring/ wear something you don’t mind getting a bit messy. Paint happens! Remember, your only limitation is your imagination. Please register in advance, $10/person/ session. Questions: Contact – tarahdelia@yahoo.com or TahawusCenter@gmail.com.
