The “Long War” of the American Revolution, 1754–1815

The American Revolution was part of a series of global wars that began in the 18th century with the Seven Years War and ended with the War of 1812. This presentation will examine the revolution in this context and discuss how the territorial ambitions and international alliances of the various world powers came together with an anti-colonial and civil war fought on American soil.
